DermapenTM
Medical skin-needling is an established clinical procedure with clinical results and skin improvements that are well known and undisputed. Peer review studies and clinical reviews have established this as an effective treatment with an excellent safety profile. Its suitability for all skin types has made it a key treatment for acne scarring, sun damaged and ageing skin, fine lines and wrinkles and stretch marks.
The Procedure
The DermapenTM treatment produces thousands of micro needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The columns will stimulate the skin to regenerate and repair itself enabling the skin to recover quickly.
This procedure has a good comfort level and will be made more so, by the application of a topical anesthetic to the treatment area if required. During the treatment a CIT Advanced Mesotherapy Solution is applied to the skin to further enhance the procedure and treatment results.
After a DermapenTM procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to six weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
At Laser Skin Technologies we would normally recommend a series of three DermapenTM Skin Rejuvenation procedures with approximately six weeks between them. Depending on your particular skin complaint it may be necessary to increase the number of treatments required
After Procedure Skincare
Immediately after your treatment you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after one to two hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day. It is recommended that make-up is not applied for 12 hours after the procedure. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
You will required to use the post needling skin care product to aid in the healing process for 7 days post treatment.
In the days following the procedure as the skin starts to regenerate and repair it may well feel drier than normal. You will be advised to come into the clinic to receive an enzyme treatment to facilitate healing.
